Kid Cudi listeners have been waiting quite a while for the release of his latest album Man On The Moon III: The Chosen and it certainly doesn’t disappoint. The 18-track LP includes some surprising collabs with Phoebe Bridgers, Trippie Redd, Skepta and the late Pop Smoke.

Although listeners are enjoying a lot of the new songs, there’s one, in particular, that is grabbing Scott Pilgrim fans’ attention. The album’s fourth track “She Knows This” quickly earned responses from the Scott Pilgrim fandom when the album debuted on Dec. 11. Why? Well, it turns out the track opens up with a sample from the iconic 2010 film.

The sample is taken from that Chaos Theater scene in the film where Stephen Stills (Mark Webber) asks Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) to reconsider his actions.

“Scott, let it go,” Stills says. “Don’t give him the satisfaction.”

Of course, in typical Scott Pilgrim fashion, he regrets the idea.

“What if I want the satisfaction?” Pilgrim asks.

Of course, fans of the film quickly flocked to social media to share their thoughts on the sample. Overall, the fandom thinks the inclusion of Scott Pilgrim in “She Knows This” is pretty cool.

The Scott Pilgrim sample isn’t the only one to make an appearance on Kid Cudi’s new album. Samples of Tame Impala, Tom Hanks in Cast Away and Nicholas Britell‘s score for Netflix‘s The King (starring Timothee Chalamet) are a few of the others that appear on Man On The Moon III: The Chosen.

So far, it seems as though everyone is really enjoying the new album. After its release on Friday, “Cudi” began trending on Twitter.
