1999's The Blair Witch Project changed the horror movie game. Armed with a mockumentary, found footage style, the film's campaign attempted to convince its audience that the plot's events were factual. In order to make many reactions in the movie genuine, the actors actually spent a week in the woods, pitching a tent and following instructions via GPS given to them each day in a milk crate. The directors even fed actors Heather Donahue, Joshua Leonard and Michael Williams less food each day to instigate un-scripted discord among them. Only costing $22,000 to produce but scoring $240.5 million, The Blair Witch Project got a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for “Top Budget: Box Office Ratio,” (via IMDB).

The new found footage film, Blair Witch, features a group of college students and local guides who enter the same Maryland forest to try and recover information about James Donahue's missing sister, Heather.
