Here are the year's 50 highest-paid musicians

Billboard has released its annual list of the 50 highest-paid musicians, and the year’s lot includes Green Day, Twenty One Pilots, Panic! At The Disco, Metallica and more as top earners among a diverse assembly of lucrative artists.

Metallica is the big winner for rock music on the list, holding it down as the third top-grossing act of the year (behind U2 and Garth Brooks). Further down the list are Green Day (no. 40), TØP (no. 44) and Panic! At The Disco (no. 47).

The bankable musicians ranking is achieved by tabulating “Nielsen Music and Billboard Boxscore information, using 2017 U.S. data only.” (Perhaps unsurprisingly, touring revenue accounts for a whopping 80% of the top 50’s total income.)
