The band posted a lengthy statement with a video from frontman Lucas Woodland, who explains the band’s visas were denied twice throughout a six month process.
“Obviously this is a huge setback,” he said in the video. “On a personal level, this would have been one of the best experiences of all of our lives so obviously it’s a very upsetting situation.”
He also talked about the American-exclusive merch that they will no longer be able to sell in the U.S., and offers fans to purchase it online, which is further explained in the caption.
“It is with a heavy heart that we must announce we will not be able to perform our upcoming North America tour with @beingasanocean and De’Wayne Jackson, due to being refused US Working VISAs by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. We are devastated by this news and would like to apologise to anyone who was or still is coming to a show on the tour,” the caption begins.
“We’d like to thank our label and management for working diligently over the past months and going to great expense in their efforts to obtain the relevant approvals for our visit,” it continues. “We will not let this setback hold us back, and will do all we can to make it back to play for our US fans as soon as possible. In the meantime, we will be making some exciting announcements very shortly.”
