The virtual event is happening on World Mental Health Day.September 24, 2020
The Hot Topic Foundation (HTF) has helped change lives since 2004 by spreading awareness and giving access to mental health programs and music education. In the past, HTF has partnered with nonprofits such as Little Kids Rock and Notes For Notes to help provide these resources to those in need. Since HTF’s beginning, it has given nearly $20 million to nonprofits that support its mission.
Now, the Hot Topic Foundation is partnering with Mental Health America for a new virtual benefit concert. MHA is the nation’s leading community-based nonprofit. It dedicates itself to addressing the needs of those living with mental illness while also promoting the overall mental health of everyone.
The virtual benefit concert is happening on Oct. 10 at 12 P.M. PT/3 P.M. ET. The event, hosted by Way, includes a diverse lineup of artists. Along with the previously mentioned, Guardin, Bad Omens, DE’WAYNE, the Word Alive and super whatevr are also among the other performers.

Along with performances, the event will also include personal stories from bands about why mental health is important. As well, MHA will provide resources, tools and tips from various special guests to help viewers thrive during these uncertain times.
“Over the decades we have seen a powerful connection between music and mental health, not just in our customers, but our own employees,” Director of Human Resources at HTF Joe Emory says. “We’re proud to partner with Mental Health America to use our platform to help destigmatize mental illness and further provide resources to those in need, when music alone isn’t enough.”
The Mental Notes benefit show will stream on hottopic.veeps.com on World Mental Health Day, Oct. 10, 2020, at 12PM PST/3PM EST.
Staring Friday, Sept. 25, tickets for the Mental Notes concert go on sale here. As well, a limited-edition concert shirt will be available exclusively at Hot Topic. All net proceeds from ticket and shirt sales will benefit MHA.
