Hulu set to be the exclusive streaming destination for Disney classics

Do your favorite Disney classics include Pocahontas, Mulan and The Nightmare Before Christmas? Well, according to Variety, Hulu and Disney have struck up a new deal to license 56 Disney movies—the biggest movie licensing deal for the service to date.

The first titles have been added to the streaming service this week, and Variety reports that movies like Con Air, Step Up, Lilo & Stitch and The Princess And The Frog will be headed to the streaming service in the next few months.

However, the news source emphasizes that none of these films are new. Its streaming competitor Netflix struck a multi-year deal with Disney back in 2012, locking down a digital streaming deal with the Walt Disney that gives it exclusive access to new and catalog titles when Disney’s existing pact with Starz wrapped up at the end of 2015, Variety reported back in '12.

Financial deals between Disney and Hulu were not disclosed at this time.

Hulu’s competitor Netflix announced last month that it would be changing the game by offering offline viewing of certain TV series and movies, with more titles to be added in the coming months.
