I Call Fives and Reign Supreme members birth new pop-punk in Golden Age

Asbury Park, NJ's Golden Age are streaming their debut three-song demo on Bandcamp, which you can listen to below and download on a pay-what-you-want basis.

The band includes vocalist/guitarist Mike Joffe, who plays guitar in Jersey pop-punks I Call Fives, and also bassist Jay Pepito, who fronts Philadelphia hardcore's Reign Supreme.

Pepito told AP about breaking into a new genre of music and how it all came about:

“I've been playing in hardcore bands since I was about 14 years old, and I've been interested in trying to play other music for a while now. These guys have been jamming together for a few years, and our drummer [Ed Tierney] is the shop guy at White Lotus, where I get most of my tattoos done. He mentioned it to me that they were looking for someone for the band, and sent me some GarageBand demos. I loved the songs, so we started playing and writing together. This is our first recording as a band, and I'm really excited to get it out there! It's going to be really fun to play something so different from the other bands I've done in the past.”
