He explains that he went home to Michigan to be examined by his vocal doctor, where he discovered he had developed a polyp on his vocal cord. Because it didn't respond to treatment or appear to be healing on it's own, he says it had to be surgically removed.

“Luckily, though, my surgery wasd successfully done by one of the best laryngologists in the country, Dr. Adam Rubin,” Burkheiser explains. “Physically and mentally these last few months have been some of the most challenging of my life, but I know this experience will only make me a stronger person going forward.

“I've never been one to back down from a challenge, and I sure as hell am not going to start now.”

He thanks fans for their continued support and announced that the band are starting to write LP two in the meantime.

I Prevail released their debut album, Lifelines, in 2016.

We wish Burkheiser the best of luck as he continues his recovery—we can't wait for LP two!
