In Hearts Wake drummer leaves band

Not even two weeks since the announcement of their new album, In Hearts Wake drummer Caleb Burton has left the band. You can read an official statement from both Burton and the band below. Be sure to leave us a comment with your thoughts!

Despite the lineup change, however, the band will not be canceling any of their scheduled touring plans. They are set to release Skydancer in May via Rise/UNFD Records, which will mark the conclusion to the band's double album project that began with their 2014 LP, Earthwalker.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that our long time drummer, friend and brother, Caleb Burton, will no longer be a part of In Hearts Wake.

Caleb's departure is for personal reasons and as a result he will be unable to partake in our very busy international touring schedule. We all remain close and want to thank Caleb for everything he has brought to the band and wish him all the best for the future.

All In Hearts Wake tours will be going ahead as planned, and we’ll be using a fill in drummer for all upcoming dates–as some of you may have already noticed on our current US tour.

As always we are dedicated to our message and music, and the fire continues to burn bright for the remaining members of In Hearts Wake.

Here is a statement from Caleb:

“I never thought when I first joined In Hearts Wake I would be able to fulfil a dream of travelling around this country and the world playing music.

I want to thank everyone who has supported this band in any way on tour over the years.

Being apart of In Hearts Wake has been an incredibly fun journey and made me the person I am today.

I love music and the friends i've made all around the world from deciding to annoy my mum by taking up drums at 10 years old.

I love the guys and wish them all the best in the future!

peace // caleb”
