Although the spooky Netflix original series Stranger Things has not yet been confirmed for a second season, it looks like fans have a glimmer of hope. The Duffer brothers, who created the series, already have plans for season two.

The brothers spoke to IGN about what could be expected from the show's potential future. They were inspired by the 1984 flick Indiana Jones: Temple Of Doom.

“I actually really love Temple of Doom, I love that it gets a little darker and weirder from Raiders [of the Lost Ark], I like that it feels very different than Raiders did,” said Matt Duffer. “Even though it was probably slammed at the time—obviously now people look back on it fondly, but it messed up a lot of kids, and I love that about that film – that it really traumatised some children. Not saying that we want to traumatise children, just that we want to get a little darker and weirder.”

The brothers also answered a couple of other lingering questions, saying that fan-favorite character Barb won't be forgotten and that Jonathan might have a chance to date Nancy. In addition to Indiana Jones movies, they were also inspired by more modern film such as Breaking Bad.
