Instagram announces support for landscape and portrait photos

When Instagram rose to fame, the app's mandatory square format was perhaps its biggest trademark. That all changes today, as the company has announced that the app will no longer require users to crop their photos to the square size. The app now allows for non-square photos in portrait and landscape sizes, natively within the app.

Make sure your app is updated, and check out the camera window. Once they've selected a non-square photo, the expand icon in the bottom left of the window allows users to expand the photo to its full size without cropping.
