Instagram Stories developing "quote tweet-style" resharing option

Instagram's new Stories feature could be a game changer for sharing other users' posts—and it's a genius update that we kind of wish would've happened sooner.

TechCrunch got a peek at the new feature they're dubbing a “quote tweet-style feed post resharing” option, which was confirmed by Instagram as being tested by a small group of users.

“We’re always testing ways to make it easier to share any moment with friends on Instagram” a spokesperson told the tech source.

As TechCrunch explains, there isn't an official “regram” feature available on the app in general—let's be real, we've all resorted to using secondary apps for those regrams. However, this new function would let you pick a public Insta post and tap a button to embed it into your own Story.

The tech source says that you can then add commentary and personalize, and when people view your Story, they can tap on the post to see the original Instagram post that you embedded.

Pretty cool, right?

It'd top screenshots and ensure accounts are getting proper credit. We're all about it.
