Is it pronounced "gif" or "jif"?—the creator makes his ruling

Reaction images, get ready: The jury is back, and you're probably saying “gif” wrong.

Steve Wilhite, the creator of the Graphical Interface Format (or, as we know it, a gif), has told The New York Times, “The Oxford English Dictionary accepts both pronunciations. They are wrong. It is a soft ‘G,’ pronounced ‘jif.’ End of story.” The Independent continued to report, adding that the White House Tumblr formally endorsed the “giff” pronounciation.

So whose side are you on? Giff or jif? Let us know in the comments!
