Issues’ Skyler Acord wins Best Bassist at 2016 APMAs

Issues’ Skyler Acord has won the award for Best Bassist, presented by Razor & Tie, at the 2016 Alternative Press Music Awards!

“Most bass players aren’t used to getting a whole lot of attention, but this is cool!” he said in his acceptance speech. “If i can do it, anyone watching this can. Surround yourself with people that don’t tell you no, and I am literally surrounded by people who never told me no, and i appreciate that very much.”

After a fan vote, Acord won against fellow bassists in Being As An Ocean, Miss May I, Motion City Soundtrack, the Amity Affliction and the Story So Far.

Issues were also nominated for Best Live Band and Most Dedicated Fans at the 2016 awards. Last year, they took home the Skully for Artist Of The Year.

Issues’ sophomore studio album, Headspace, was released this past May on Rise Records. They are currently out supporting the record on Warped Tour.
