‘It Chapter Two’ shares menacing new poster, announces trailer date

The excitement around It Chapter Two continues to build with the film’s debut less than two months out. Following some on-set photos and a first teaser trailer, the scares just keep coming.

The film’s account shared another terrifying poster earlier today, but that’s not all. With it, they revealed the official trailer will be dropping tomorrow at 9 a.m. PST/noon EST.

It Chapter Two shared its first poster (fittingly) on Halloween. With just a simple logo, not much was revealed at the time.

This time, we get a better look at the dancing clown himself as Pennywise stares menacingly ahead. Along with the image, the poster reads “It ends.” Check it out below.

Ahead of the poster reveal, It author Stephen King, who already shared his seal of approval, revealed something was coming.

“Tomorrow, at Scare Diego: IT hits the fans,” he tweeted.

King’s post refers to Warner Bros. and New Line’s ScareDiego event, an off-site panel which is held amid all of the official San Diego Comic-Con activities. It was previously reported that new It Chaper Two footage will be shared at the panel, which is held today at 7:30 p.m. PST. However, there is no official word on if today’s footage is what the general public will be catching tomorrow.

Following the trailer reveal, Director Andy Muschietti and producer Barbara Muschietti will be hosting a live Twitter Q&A at 12:25 p.m. PST/3:25 p.m. EST. They’ll be using the hashtag #AskAboutIt from the official Twitter account.

More on It Chapter Two

Last week, Entertainment Weekly shared some exclusive new images from It Chapter Two. The amount of blood championed by one of the film’s stars, Jessica Chastain, isn’t completely evident in the new images. However, they do show the gang bloodstained and walking through a dingy sewer tunnel throughout the photos.

Horror fans should be eagerly anticipating the new film if nothing else for the promise of record-breaking amounts of gore.

“In the movie, there’s a scene — Someone said on set that it’s the most blood that’s ever been in a horror film. In a scene,” she says. “The next day, I was pulling blood out of my eyeballs — like, fake blood.”

While fans won’t be watching the film for a few more months, Screenwriter Gary Dauberman has seen the final cut and had only glowing things to say.

“I’m very, very happy and I’m very, very proud,” he says. “I don’t know if you can hear the joy in my voice as I try not to answer this question, but I’m very excited for everyone to see it. As a very, very anxious person, I have no anxiety about that movie whatsoever.”

The sequel will focus on the adult version of the Losers’ Club return to Derry, Maine, 27 years later. The cast includes Chastain as Beverly Marsh, James McAvoy as Bill Denbrough and Bill Hader as Richie Tozier. Additionally, James Ransone will play Eddie Kaspbrak, Jay Ryan will play Ben Hanscom, Andy Bean will play Stan Uris and Isaiah Mustafa will play Mike Hanlon. Bill Skarsgård is also returning as Pennywise.

While the film will focus on the adult version of the club, that doesn’t mean the kids from the first film won’t make an appearance. As previously reported, the kids from the first film will appear in flashbacks during the sequel.

Pennywise will be terrorizing the Losers Club beginning Sept. 6, and you can check out the first teaser for the film below.
