‘Pennywise: The Story Of It’ documentary will feature 1990 miniseries cast

The It franchise is about to get its own documentary. Titled Pennywise: The Story Of It, the documentary will focus on the terrifying clown’s rise to horror domination in Stephen King’s 1990 miniseries.

According to the trailer, it looks like fans will be able to feast their eyes upon many terrifying It artifacts. Additionally, they will get the chance to see how the series’ had a lasting effect on millions of horror fanatics.

According to Consequence of Sound, the documentary will reunite members of miniseries’ the cast and crew, including Pennywise himself: Tim Curry. Joining Curry will be Richard Thomas (Bill Denbrough), Dennis Christopher (Eddie Kaspbrak), Emily Perkins (Young Beverly Marsh) and Tim Reid (Mike Hanlon).

Additionally, the documentary is directed by John Campopiano and Gary Smart.

The trailer hints that the documentary will be released sometime in 2019. You can watch the full extended trailer below.

IT: Chapter Two, what we know so far:

IT: Chapter Two will be directed by Andy Muschietti. The sequel will focus on the adult version of the Losers’ Club return to Derry, Maine, 27 years later.

The cast includes Jessica Chastain as Beverly Marsh, James McAvoy as Bill Denbrough and Bill Hader as Richie Tozier. Additionally, James Ransone will play Eddie Kaspbrak, Jay Ryan will play Ben Hanscom, Andy Bean will play Stan Uris and Isaiah Mustafa will play Mike Hanlon.

While the film will focus on the adult version of the club, that doesn’t mean the kids from the first film won’t make an appearance. As previously reported, the kids from the first film will appear in flashbacks during the sequel.

Additionally, Chapter Two will see the adults of the Loser’s Club tackling the strange ritual that involves the group biting each other’s tongues and laughing. Writer Gary Dauberman spilled the beans to CinemaBlend, saying:

“The Ritual of Chüd is challenging. But it’s such an important component to the book that we had to address it.”

Dauberman credits the creative bond between production members in overcoming the “difficult to balance” passage.

IT: Chapter Two comes to theaters September 6.
