It looks like Pete Davidson may be saying goodbye to all of his tattoos

In case you didn’t know, Pete Davidson has quite the tattoo collection. In fact, the actor/comedian reportedly has over 100 tattoos inked throughout his body. However, it looks like they may not be around for too much longer.

The Saturday Night Live star is reportedly in the process of removing all of his tattoos and he has a good reason for doing so.

Since Davidson’s career has taken off, he’s been able to incorporate his heavily-tattooed body into his roles. From The King Of Staten Island to Big Time Adolescence, Davidson’s ink manages to add dimension to the characters he portrays on-screen.

In fact, last weekend’s SNL was a prime example of this. For the sketch “Stu,” Davidson reenacted Eminem‘s iconic video for “Stan.” Along with bleached hair and a white tank top, Davidson’s tattoos further helped his portrayal of the also tattooed rapper.

His tattoos also worked out when he impersonated his friend and on-screen co-star Machine Gun Kelly during the Saturday Night Live episode.

However, it turns out that Davidson may be saying goodbye to his tattoos for good. According to Us Weekly, he is in process of getting all of his tattoos removed. During a recent virtual Q&A for Judd Apatow‘s The King Of Staten Island, Davidson reportedly confirmed the news. He even showed off one of his hands which is no longer tattooed.

“Just attended a virtual Q&A with the Judd Apatow and the cast of THE KING OF STATEN ISLAND. And here’s a scoop: Pete Davidson is in the process of getting all his tattoos removed!”

According to Mike McGranaghan, who first shared the news, Davidson is removing his tattoos for professional reasons. It’s possible having his tattoos removed will broaden his opportunity for future on-screen roles.

“No, it’s real. He even showed his hand, which is already done,” McGranaghan said. “He said it takes 3-4 hours in the makeup chair to cover them, so he figured ‘it would be easier to get them burned off.’”

Quite a few of Davidson’s tattoos are actually Harry Potter-related. The actor has the Deathly Hallows symbol, the sorting hat, Harry Potter’s lightning bolt scar and a Dumbledore quote located throughout his body. However, following the controversy surrounding J.K. Rowling, Davidson has some new thoughts about his HP ink.

Some of his other notable tattoos include a portrait of Hillary Clinton, the Direwolf from Game of Thrones and even Spongebob Squarepants.
