Even though Post Malone unveiled his last full-length album Hollywood’s Bleeding just last year, the rapper is already hard at work on his next release. Back in July, he opened up on how the ongoing pandemic and world events have greatly influenced his new music.

“I’m working on an album now,” he said. “There’s so much to say in these times that will give people hope and hopefully uplift people’s spirits. Because it’s a dark time in America. It’s a dark time in the world.”

For him, being locked inside his house during quarantine was bittersweet. However, it resulted in some heavy songwriting that made him step outside of his comfort zone.

“Honestly, for a songwriter to be in the house all day is a blessing and a curse,” he shared. “In the darkest of times, I’m just trying to make something beautiful out of it. I wanted to take more steps outside of my comfort range and make music that I think, to me, is some of the best I’ve made.”

Now, Post Malone has revealed even more details about his upcoming album. He tells Complex that he has created a lot of new music this year. From the sounds of it, fans can expect to hear a whole new side of Post Malone and some new influences in the future.

“I’ve been recording a lot of new music for the album,” he says. “Having the team here with me creating has been amazing. We have been experimenting with some new sounds and are really excited for the world to hear.”

Back in July, Post Malone said that he wants this new body of work to be uplifting for listeners during these uncertain times.

“And I probably say that every album cycle, but for me it feels so special,” he said. “I want to make an album that will uplift and show that people are not alone in their times of loneliness and worry and that at the end of the day we all just need to show love to everyone on the planet and figure things out.”

Even though no release date for Posty’s next album is known, he has still treated fans to plenty of new music in 2020. In the past few months, he has teamed up with Tyla Yaweh (“Tommy Lee“), Big Sean (“Wolves“) and Justin Bieber (“Forever“) for some new collaborations.

Post Malone’s last release Hollywood’s Bleeding featured a slew of epic collabs with Halsey (“Die For Me”), Young Thug (“Goodbyes”), Travis Scott and Ozzy Osbourne (“Take What You Want”). The album went on to debut at No.1 on the Billboard 200.
