The 'It' sequel reportedly has a title

We're all pretty excited to return to Derry, Maine, but we still have a way to go before we actually get to see our favorite dancing clown again.

While we've still got more than an entire year to go, with It slated to hit theaters on September 6, 2019, we can at least know what to officially call the horror movie when sharing our excitment.

As we knew going into the first film, the It sequel will be covering the second half of Stephen King's massive book and, for most of us, we've been referring to the upcoming horror flick as IT: Chapter 2. While we may have all assumed the movie would have a “chapter two” title attached to the end of it, it comes as a bit of a surprise (or not) that the movie will actually be called It: Part 2.

In It: Part 2, we can expect to follow the Losers' Club 27 years later as they are once again face-to-face with the evil Pennywise, but this time—as adults.

Apart from the news of the ~ official ~ title, not much is known about the upcoming Stephen King movie.

According to ComicBook.com, the film is expected to begin filming sometime this summer with a return of the younger version of the Losers' Club. They won't play as big of a role in the new flick, but it appears that they'll be shooting new flashback scenes to add to the plot of the second film.

As for who will play the adults, we're not really sure.

With no official casting announced, there have been rumors of Jessica Chastain being in talks to be the adult version of Beverly in the IT sequel, but neither Chastain nor New Line have officially confirmed or denied her involvement in the upcoming film.

According to VarietyIT director Andrés Muschietti said Chastain “loves the movie…but we still have to make that happen.” In addition to that statement, Muscietti also shared that “there are a lot of ideas for the rest of the cast…but it’s a bit too premature to say those names right now.”

While we're not sure who will play the adult verisons of the Loser's Club, we can rest assured that Bill Skarsgård will be coming back to eat the children, uhm, adults, of the Losers' Club.

We may not have an official casting for the second It film, but we're still pretty excited to see It: Part 2

Be sure to be on the look out for It: Part 2 in theaters September 6, 2019.
