Right now, the Italian Red Cross is at the frontlines of the growing emergency in Italy. They’ve been filling roles including relief, logistical information, general control, screening and numerous other crucial components of battling the pandemic sweeping the country.

Collaborating with the Ministry of Health, the Italian Red Cross is handling the transportation of sick individuals between health infrastructure in the country. They’re using special biocontainment measures prepared for a situation just like coronavirus.

The GoFundMe page is aiming to provide extra resources so they can continue providing help. A statement about the effort can be read below.

“We ask all of you fans, artists, record labels and music professionals to support our cause. The rock community has always been united and aimed at mutual support. A small gesture to help people who need care and support to return to their normal lives as soon as possible. With the hope of seeing each other again in a music venue soon!”

At the moment, they’ve raised €4086 of their €10,000 goal. You can donate to their cause here to help provide relief.

According to a report from BBC, coronavirus has claimed 1,016 lives in Italy thus far with 15,113 infections. 1,258 have recovered according to civil protection officials.

“Italy was the first nation in Europe to be affected so badly,” says Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio. “But I hope it also means that Italy is the first one to leave the emergency behind.”
