See Jack Black bring back Nacho Libre in new coronavirus PSA

Jack Black is reprising his iconic Nacho Libre role for a good cause. This week, the comedian took a break from TikTok to channel his 2006 character for a new coronavirus PSA.

The self-made video is encouraging everyone to do their part amid the pandemic and wear a mask.

It’s been nearly 14 years since Nacho Libre was released. Though nearly a decade has passed, the character still remains one of Black’s most beloved and popular today. Now, the comedian is channeling his iconic character to spread awareness amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

As cases continue to spike in the United States, officials are urging everyone to wear protective face masks while out in public. Nacho Libre is asking you to do the same, too.

In the new self-made PSA, Black wants everyone to “be a hero, wear a mask” and help slow the spread of coronavirus. The PSA was seemingly filmed in his own backyard while wearing the iconic Nacho Libre ensemble. Instead of Nacho Libre’s blue mask, however, Black sports a medical-grade face mask.

The lighthearted video shows Black running around his backyard and even doing a slow-motion pool dive while wearing his red cape and protective face mask. Black’s video was made as part of the #YourActionsSaveLives movements which encourages people to wear masks when in public.

Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar, Selma Blair and Patrick Dempsey are just a few of the other actors to take part in the movement.

Black’s new video follows up a recently released coronavirus PSA with Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th. The video was created by Ogilvy Health and the Chimney Group and also encourages citizens to wear face masks.
