Speaking to Digital Spy after seeing an early cut of the film, Blum says he feels “really good about it.”
“I saw a cut of it two nights ago. I think David [Gordon Green] did a terrific job,” Blum continued. “He did everything I hoped he would do which is respect the DNA of the franchise and bring something totally new to it and we’re really very, very excited for people to see it.”
The new Halloween is said to be a sequel, beginning the same night as John Carpenter‘s original 1978 slasher. The promise has always been to respect Carpenter's original, and he will be back for the sequel to serve as executive producer.
With the addition of Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Castle reprising their famous roles, it's easy to see how there's a lot to be “very, very excited” about.
Halloween will be released Oct. 19.
