As we get into the swing of the holiday season, many brands and stores are unveiling new products in time for Black Friday. Beauty guru Jeffree Star is no different, but Jeffree Star Cosmetics has even more to celebrate as it turns five.

Star announced the brand’s 5-year anniversary collection earlier this week and while many fans were stoked, several expressed concerns of the cost of the new Extreme Frost highlighter.

Star announced the anniversary release Tuesday by bringing back the first Christmas collection that consists of five shades: Drug Lord, Doll Parts, Androgyny, Mistletoe, Hoe Hoe Hoe.

The following day, the cosmetics page posted about the brand new website exclusive Extreme Frost that comes in three glittery shades: “Gag Me,” “Lick My Glit” and “Sour Ice.”

Past highlighter products from Star have included Skin Frost and Supreme Frost retailing at $29-32 each. With Extreme Frost retailing at $50, many Star fans took to Twitter to express concerns over the higher price tag.

Many also defended Jeffree Star, pointing out its high quality.

However, once received, many makeup users were here for its glow

Following the initial response, Star took to his personal page to explain the cost.

“[It] comes in a white luxury box. Vegan. Cruelty-Free,” the post states. “I made the #ExtremeFrost formula for bougie makeup lovers who love luxury cosmetics and crazy shit ⭐️ The formula is really expensive to make so I had to price it accordingly ✅ All 3 shades are permanent. Free shipping for ALL U.S customers when launch!”

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Black Friday sale has been live since Thursday at noon. In addition to the new Holiday Liquid Lip Bundle and Extreme Frost, it also includes travel straw sleeve, white glitter makeup display, 5th Anniversary hoodies, new tie-dye hoodies and Iridescent & Onyx Star Mirrors. Many products are already sold out, but you can check out the full collection and other products here.
