Jimmy Eat World deliver stripped-back “The Middle” in Tiny Desk set
Jimmy Eat World took one of their most popular tracks “The Middle” and stripped it for their performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk.
They also played “Love Never” and “All The Way (Stay)” off tenth and latest release Surviving.

“All The Way (Stay)” is the leading single off the record and dropped in September with an accompanying music video.
The band later announced they’re opening for My Chemical Romance on March 25 in Western Springs, New Zealand.
Now, the band has made an appearance on NPR’s “Tiny Desk” segment.
They aren’t the only alt artist to perform in the concert series. In 2017, Paramore stopped by the NPR office to perform stripped-down versions of “Hard Times”, “26” and “Fake Happy.”
Before playing “26”, Hayley Williams talked a bit about the song: “It’s been really interesting playing the new songs on the record because they are all dancey and happy, but I think this one is maybe the most transparent,” the singer said. Then, she quickly added, “I hope we don’t bum you out too much.”
NPR, as well as Jimmy Eat World, posted the video of the set on Twitter.

Jimmy Eat World (@jimmyeatworld) arrived at our office all smiles and no guitars. With a couple of borrowed acoustics, a gong and a tambourine, the band’s heartfelt Tiny Desk set (including “The Middle”) had us all singing along. https://t.co/iVDUKsWQyr pic.twitter.com/xwXwygS7ZG
