Due to coronavirus, hundreds of tours and shows worldwide have been canceled. Slipknot, Mötley Crüe, Halsey, Paramore‘s Hayley Williams and Billie Eilish are just a few of many artists that have either canceled or postponed their tours this year. Along with them, various festivals including Coachella, Reading and Leeds, Glastonbury and Lollapalooza have also been canceled until 2021.

Now, it appears that Jimmy Eat World’s upcoming run this August and September is another 2020 tour to be canceled. The tour was in support of their latest album Surviving and was set to kick-off August 6 in Atlanta and wrap up in Phoneix on September 5.

Along with the Front Bottoms, the 20-date tour also included Joyce Manor and Turnover. Jimmy Eat World announced the tour cancelation on June 15.

“Hey everyone,” they say. “It comes as no surprise, but a bummer nonetheless, that we are pulling the plug on our tour with the Front Bottoms that was set to kick off in August.”

Unlike many tours this year that have been postponed, this tour has been canceled and will not take place at a later date with the current lineup. For those that purchased a ticket for the tour, you will be receiving an email regarding refund options soon.

Although the tour has been canceled, Jimmy Eat World assure fans that they have a lot planned once the pandemic is contained. With current reports predicting that large scale live events won’t return until the latter part of 2021, Jimmy Eat World plan to be back on tour once it is safe.

“We’ll be back on the road as soon as it’s safe to do so,” they continue. “In the meantime, stay well and keep your eyes & ears peeled for some fun stuff we’re working on.”
