J.J. Abrams tapped to direct next 'Star Wars' movie

Ever since Disney acquired George Lucas' Lucasfilm Ltd. last October, the chatter about another Star Wars movie has only increased. Today, in an exclusive on TheWrap.com, it was announced that J.J. Abrams will direct Star Wars: Episode VII

Abrams is known throughout Hollywood and the rest of the world as the man behind some of the most popular television shows and movies of the past decade. His producing/directing credits includes Lost, Alias, the Mission Impossible franchise and this summer's sure-to-be-blockbuster Star Trek Into Darkness. He also runs the production company Bad Robot.

Disney has set a 2015 release date for Star Wars: Episode VII. Little Miss Sunshine screenwriter Michael Arndt will write the script.
