Johnny Rotten scattered a fan’s ashes onstage during Public Image Ltd. show
Johnny Rotten, aka John Lydon, honored a late fan in an unconventional way while performing with Public Image Ltd.

The Sex Pistols former lead singer scattered a fan’s ashes onstage at a gig in Frome, England. Lydon announced that a fan named Stuart had died, and the man’s sister requested that his ashes be spread onstage.
“I think that’s one of the nicest, most humblest things,” Lydon said to the crowd about the request. “This is for Stuart, a fan whose request is his ashes be spread on the PiL stage. Stuart, we love you! In memory!”
Lydon then took the ashes, which appear to be in an envelope, and threw them in the air while fans cheered and Public Image Ltd. went into their next song.
