‘Get Out’ director unveils next horror movie’s poster, trailer premiere date

Social horror film Get Out took the cinema world by storm in 2017, snagging the coveted 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Jordan Peele also became the first African-American writer-director to earn an $100 million debut and earned the highest grossing debut project for a writer-director with an original screenplay.

Peele also won an Oscar for Writing (Original Screenplay) at last year’s ceremony, so it’s safe to say his next movie, Us, is highly anticipated. Today, we got another look at a poster and information on the trailer’s debut.

Back in February, Peele revealed he was working on his next film. At the time, he only said he would be working with Universal and no plot details were known.

“One thing I know is that this is genre; and playing around with the thriller, horror, action, fun genre of intrigue is my favorite,” Peele says. “That’s my sweet spot. So I think tonally it should resemble Get Out. That said, I want to make a completely different movie. I want to address something different than race in the next one.”

In May 2018, Peele dropped the first poster, which revealed the film’s title.

Us stars Lupita Nyong’o (Black Panther), Winston Duke (Black Panther), Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men, The Handmaid’s Tale) and Tim Heidecker (Ant-Man And The Wasp). The film later announced additonal cast members, Shahadi Wright Joseph, Evan Alex, Madison Curry, Cali Sheldon, Noelle Sheldon and Duke Nicholson (Jack Nicholson’s grandson).

The official synopsis states:

“A mother (Nyong’o) and a father (Duke) take their kids to their beach house expecting to unplug and unwind with friends (which includes Moss). But as night descends, their serenity turns to tension and chaos when some shocking visitors arrive uninvited.”

Earlier today, Peele dropped a peek at the new poster along with the news that the trailer would be dropping on Christmas.

Currently, there’s no further information on what time or where the trailer will drop, but you can check out the new poster below now.
