Social horror film Get Out took the cinema world by storm in 2017, snagging the coveted 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Jordan Peele also became the first African-American writer-director to earn an $100 million debut and earned the highest grossing debut project for a writer-director with an original screenplay.
Peele also won an Oscar for Writing (Original Screenplay) at last year’s ceremony, so it’s safe to say his next movie, Us, is highly anticipated. Today, we got a look at the trailer’s debut.
Us stars Lupita Nyong’o (Black Panther), Winston Duke (Black Panther), Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men, The Handmaid’s Tale) and Tim Heidecker (Ant-Man And The Wasp). The film later announced additonal cast members, Shahadi Wright Joseph, Evan Alex, Madison Curry, Cali Sheldon, Noelle Sheldon and Duke Nicholson (Jack Nicholson’s grandson).
A few days ago, Entertainment Weekly debuted some behind-the-scenes photos with a better idea of what the film was about:
“The story is set in the present day and follows Adelaide and Gabe Wilson (Lupita Nyong’o and Winston Duke) as they take their kids to Adelaide’s old childhood beachside home in Northern California for the summer. After a day at the beach with the Tyler family (which includes Elisabeth Moss and Tim Heidecker), Adelaide—who’s haunted by a lingering trauma from her past—becomes increasingly more paranoid that something bad will happen to her family. As night falls, the Wilsons see four figures holding hands and standing silently at the bottom of their driveway… ”
Today, we see that nightmare come to life. Check out the new trailer below.
The new trailer isn’t the only news from the film today as Peele shared Fandango’s post announcing tickets are on sale now.

Joran Peele’s posters for Us
Back in February, Peele revealed he was working on his next film. At the time, he said he was working with Universal and no plot details were known.
“One thing I know is that this is genre; and playing around with the thriller, horror, action, fun genre of intrigue is my favorite,” Peele says. “That’s my sweet spot. So I think tonally it should resemble Get Out. That said, I want to make a completely different movie. I want to address something different than race in the next one.”
In May 2018, Peele dropped the first poster, which revealed the film’s title, Us.
