We all know and love Josh Dun as one half of twenty one pilots. However, before Dun joined Tyler Joseph, he was drumming for a band called House Of Heroes.
The Columbus-based act played a hometown show earlier tonight and recruited Dun to join them onstage for an encore.

Dun joined House Of Hero’s lineup for a few months in 2010. Despite the brief stint, he appeared in the “God Save The Foolish Kings” video, which is taken from their 2010 full-length Suburba.
House Of Heroes have been relatively quiet since 2016 until announcing in Sept. 2018 that they would be reuniting to play their 2008 full-length The End Is Not The End in full.
twenty one pilots recently wrapped up the first leg of their Bandito tour, with Joseph penning an emotional letter about its end earlier today. With both members off-the-road, House Of Heroes fans were treated to quite a surprise at the band’s show.
The band played through a set at the Rumba in Columbus, Ohio. Reddit user highvoltorb was in attendance, and caught a photo of Dun joining the band for an encore.
Footage of his performance has slowly begun trickling online as one Instagram user shared a capture of Dun’s sister Ashley’s story.
Dun’s brother Jordan was also in attendance and reflected on HOH being the first band he saw Josh play an arena with.

twenty one pilots’ emotional thank you
It’s no secret that 2018 was a big year for twenty one pilots, who ended their year-long hiatus back in July. Since the duo’s return, the clique have officially entered the Trench era, and we haven’t looked back since.
Whether it was the release of the band’s latest album Trench, which made it in our top 50 albums of 2018 list, to seeing the duo make their highly anticipated return to the stage with the bandito tour, there was a lot of be thankful for as a TOP fan.
While we’re still not entirely over the band’s return (honestly, can you blame us?) this latest update on the tour has us even more emotional about the band’s latest run than before.
Taking to Instagram early this morning Joseph posted an emotional tribute to the band’s latest tour. The post, which you can read below, is a thank you of sorts from him, who detailed his thoughts on this new Trench-era run.
