Kansas town changes name in honor of 'Back To The Future' anniversary

In honor of the 30th anniversary of the classic film Back To The Future, Augusta, Kansas has changed their name to Hill Valley, the name of the fictional California town from the film. The anniversary coincides with the 80th anniversary of the town's historic Augusta Theatre.

In addition to the name change, which only lasted for the day, the town hosted a screening of all three Back To The Future films, a Marty McFly look alike contest, and a photoshoot with a real Delorean car. If you're wondering why a random Kansas town would host such a massive event, you probably haven't seen Back To The Future, which is perfect in every way.
