It looks like Kanye West has been working on music with the Mars Volta

Kanye West has been incredibly active on social media over the past few weeks. As he continues his campaign for president, he is also continuing to spill some behind-the-scenes secrets. Now, the rapper claims that he has collaborated with the Mars Volta on an unfinished album.

West took to Twitter on July 22 to reveal the news about his collaboration with the prog-rock band.

Following his recent presidential rally in South Carolina, many onlookers and loved ones are worried about West’s mental health. Various celebrities have taken to social media to express their thoughts on mental health and West’s current situation. This week, both Halsey and Demi Lovato shared various tweets regarding bipolar disorder, a diagnosis Halsey, Lovato and West all have.

Amidst various other bizarre tweets he has shared recently, West also says he has an unfinished album with the Mars Volta. The progressive rock band featured Omar Rodrigo Lopez and Cedric Bixler-Zavala and split up in 2013.

West tweeted a clip of a sports documentary which includes The Mars Volta’s song “The Widow.” He then shares that he has collaborated on an album with the band.

“The Mars Volta we need to finish the album,” he tweets.

At this time, it is unknown if they were collaborating on material prior to the band’s split. As well, no one from the Mars Volta has confirmed if the West collaboration is true.

In 2019, the Mars Volta confirmed a reunion. Then, in a series of now-deleted tweets, the band revealed they were working on new music. However, no new Mars Volta music has been shared yet.

Meanwhile, West is also teasing that a new album called DONDA is being released this Friday, July 24. His last full-length album JESUS IS KING was released in 2019.

“DONDA: WITH CHILD new album and movie this Friday,” he tweets.

West also appears to still be on the campaign trail for the 2020 presidential election. In a now-deleted tweet, however, he did ask followers if he should run in 2024 instead.

“#2020VISION or maybe ’24. I guess all black people supposed to vote on Biden? Y’all want me to run on nah???”

He then later sent a tweet saying, “says the future president.”

On July 9, TMZ reported that West’s loved ones are worried about his mental health and believe he’s going through a manic episode. The report says “our sources say his family and those close to him are worried, but they believe things will stabilize as they have in the past.”
