Over the weekend, Kanye West announced that he is running for President of the United States. Following this news, the rapper is now revealing that he wants his presidency and the US government to be modeled around Black Panther‘s Wakanda.

On July 4, West announced on Twitter his plans to run for president.

“We must now realize the promise of America by trust God, unifying our vision and building our future,” he tweets. “I am running for president of the United States.”

At this point, it really doesn’t come as much of a surprise that West is deciding to run for president. West has been slightly involved in politics over the years and even endorsed Trump during his 2016 presidential campaign. The rapper made headlines after his endorsement when he revealed that he didn’t actually vote in the presidential election.

In the Forbes interview, West reveals that he will likely run as an independent as opposed to Republican since Trump is campaigning for his second term. As well, West also denounces his support for Trump.

Even though it’s too late for West to file as an independent candidate in several states, it appears that he is still planning to run. Now, he is revealing what he wants his presidency to be like.

In the new interview, West uses the society of Wakanda in Marvel‘s Black Panther as an example of the framework he wants to bring to the White House.

“A lot of Africans do not like the movie [Black Panther] and representation of themselves in Wakanda,” West says. “But I’m gonna use the framework of Wakanda right now because it’s the best explanation of what our design group is going to feel like in the White House. That is a positive idea: you got Kanye West, one of the most powerful humans – I’m not saying the most because you got a lot of alien level superpowers and it’s only collectively that we can set it free.”

After slightly going off-topic in the rambling interview, Kanye goes back to discussing Black Panther. For Kayne, he wants to take the innovation that is seen in Wakanda and recreate it for his presidency.

“Let’s get back to Wakanda,” he continues. “Like in Wakanda, when the king went to visit that lead scientist to have the shoes wrap around her shoes. Just the amount of innovation that can happen, the amount of innovation in medicine, like big pharma, we are going to work, innovate, together. This is not going to be some Nipsey Hussle being murdered. They’re doing a documentary, we have so many soldiers that die for our freedom, our freedom of information. That there is a cure for AIDS out there, there is going to be a mix of big pharma and holistic.”

West also answers several policy-related questions in the interview. One of the items on his presidential list includes ending police brutality. In June, West took part in the Black Lives Matter protests in Chicago. As well, he has set up a college fund for George Floyd‘s daughter. He also donated $2 million to the families of Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor.

West also tells Forbes why he decided to run for president now. He says that he’s “not crazy” despite the criticism he has received since his announcement.

“I was in the shower thinking, I write raps in the shower,” he says. “It hit me to say, ‘you’re going to run for president’ and I started laughing hysterically. I was like, ‘this is the best.’ God just gave me the clarity and said ‘it’s time.'”
