Kat Von D's black flower garden is every emo kid's dream come true

 

This sweet, little girl has been teasing me every morning while I patiently wait for her glorious arrival here in my black plant garden! She's a special type of Bearded Iris called “Hello, Darkness” – appropriately named since her species of Iris far surpasses all other dark Iris in the sheer degree of her black color. Just a few more days before she's in full bloom! I think most people would be shocked/frightened at how easy it is for me to forever isolate. The hardest part about being a happy hermit, is having to inevitably leave the house. I'm on my way to Poland now, and I already miss the hell outta my cats and all my little black flowers so much. �� #casavond

From my black garden: Pennie Blacks [also nicknamed “Baby Black Eyes”] These flowers were popular amongst the Victorians, and are extremely easy to grow. Like most of the plants in my garden, I grew these sweet little babies from seed, and they just now started to bloom this week! �� #gothgardening #blackthumb #blackflower

From my black garden: Black “FloraMia Nero” vine. �� Same family as the “black heart” vine I posted a little while back, but these guys have tiny lavender trumpets that bloom every now and then. If you can look past the lavander flowers, this vine is perfect for your black garden! ���� #gothgardening #blackthumb #blackplant

Look who's come out to say hi this morning! From my black garden: Black Dhalia �� Just read the neatest article about this specific flower and it's meaning. As many of you might already know, flowers have been associated w meaning for ages [aka pink roses represent admiration, white rose = sincerity, purity and yellow rose = friendship]. In the Victorian era, Black Dahlias [unlike most mourning flowers] represented a good wish for a couple + commitment. �� *side note: the Dahlia is also the national flower of Mexico, and was actually given its name by the director of the Royal Gardens of Madrid in honor of his fellow botanist: Andrew Dahl. �� #gothgardening #blackflower
