Kevin Lyman tried to book the Ghost Inside for this year’s Warped Tour

Warped Tour’s number one guy, Kevin Lyman recently revealed that he tried his darndest to get the Ghost Inside to play at this year’s special 25th anniversary tour.

However, the band recently revealed that they are only playing one show, and one show only, in 2019 — their comeback “Save The Date” show.

In a story with RockSound, Lyman says that while he is happy the band are back after their horrific bus accident in 2015, he is still bummed that he couldn’t book them for this year’s Warped Tour shows.

“I tried, I tried, I tried, I tried. But their manager said they were going to do their own thing. I tried. I really tried.” Lyman says. “But it’s absolutely so good to see them back. Absolutely. I’m hoping to get down and see their comeback show. And I always hold open a spot for them on the [Warped] line-up. And I’ve always said to them that they are welcome on this show.”

Recently, the Ghost Inside announced that the only date they are playing this year falls on July 13 in Los Angeles.

According to the PRP, the band took to Instagram to clarify any misconceptions over their return.

While the band say this will be their only show in 2019, they hope it won’t be their last.

“This is absolutely 100% the only show we will play in 2019,” The band say. “No secret warm up show the day before and no surprise tour announcement the day after. This is going to be a once in a lifetime night that we have fought for every day of our recovery. We will be joined by all of our families, friends, and those that supported us behind the scenes, and we hope that many of you will join us as well.”

Back in November 2015, the band were involved in a serious bus accident that claimed the lives of their driver and everyone in the other vehicle. Additionally, Andrew Tkaczyk lost his leg as a result of the accident. All members of the band and crew survived. Since then, the band has faced an extensive road to recovery, both mentally and physically.

In May, the band shared a statement about the future of The Ghost Inside.

“Spending a week together as bandmates answered the question that has been on all of our minds—yes there is a future for TGI,” the band shares in a Facebook post. “We still aren’t sure exactly what it looks like. It might be one show, it might be a few shows. It could be a new song or a whole new record. Our journey into that future is just beginning, and we will bring everyone that is interested along with us.”
