Back in April, we reported that Killswitch Engage frontman Jesse Leach had to undergo surgery on his vocal cords to repair an issue, which prompted the band to cancel seven of the band’s previously scheduled shows.

Now in better health, Leach is “screaming better than ever before” and is currently in the studio working on the band’s follow-up to 2016’s Incarnate.

Fast forward to today, Leach has offered fans another update via Instagram about the band’s current progress with the album, and it appears they’re that much closer to finishing up their eighth studio album!

Posting a picture of himself with guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz, the singer wrote:

So many years, so much music and much much more to come. We are legit an ‘odd couple.’ On paper, our personalities clash, but in life it works, it clicks and it’s genuine. More vocal tracking for KSE in the next three days. We are chipping away at a massive stone. I’m about halfway through 21 songs. Then, of course, figuring out which songs make it to the album.

He continued on by sharing that the photo posted was from the days of their side project, Times Of Grace, where Leach added that new music for that effort will be happening at some point as well:

This photo was from the “Times of Grace” days…and yes at some point there will be a new record for that project as well. One thing at a damn time!

Due to Leach’s vocal cord surgery, the band was forced to cancel seven dates of their headlining run. They recently announced the rescheduled dates, and they’re bringing Born Of Osiris, Crowbar and Death Ray Vision along for the ride.
