Killswitch Engage frontman Jesse Leach returns to the studio for new album

After suffering an injury to his vocal chords, Killswitch Engage frontman Jesse Leach has found himself back in the studio working on the band’s upcoming album.

On April 25 of this year, Leach announced that he would have to undergo surgery to remove a polyp that was caused by strain and overuse. While the surgery was successful, Leach said that he would have to relearn technique and give his throat proper time to heal. The band also had to cancel several shows.

Luckily, today Leach shared in an Instagram post that he has been back in the studio. The vocalist said that he has “poured his heart and soul” into two new songs.

Anytime I get chills or tears form when the playback is rolling, I know I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing,” Leach wrote in the post. “Yeah tears, tears are metal AF!!”

This is one of my weapons in the daily battle for my mental health. Big ups to @statebicycleco for making slick, fast and rad single speed bikes. After knocking out some solid material in the studio I rode a fast 20 miles and now feel like a damn champion ha ha! After pouring my heart and soul into these past two songs (still gotta finish one) I am mentally exhausted. However that being said, I have that feeling I get when I know it’s a crucial song. Anytime I get chills or tears form when the playback is rolling, I know I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing. Yeah tears, tears are metal AF!! you bastards stop frontin’ ha ha…I’m writing songs for my people my headcases just like me, believe that! Got some anthems coming your way on this album! . So yeah back to the riding, it legit takes me out of myself and gives me a pure joy like nothing else. I live for that biker buzz, it’s amazing! . **Also repping that Stretch and Bobbito gear because they are damn Legends! Yo @stretchandbobbito “what’s good” with more podcasts, or nah? . ???‍♂️❤️ #RealTalk #IKeepsItReal #IAmBrokenToo #Jesse leach #TearsAreMetalAF #KseStudioSessions #BikeLife #StateBicycleCo #killswitchengage #BicycleTherapy #WritersLife #mentalhealthawareness #Depression #Anxiety #itsoknottobeok #OneLove #stretchandbobbito
