Killswitch Engage vocalist Jesse Leach's punk side project finishes album

Killswitch Engage vocalist Jesse Leach is going to be plenty busy touring with the band this spring but he’s looking to the rest of the year hoping to book shows with his punk side project The Weapon.

Leach says in a new Instagram post that he’s finishing an album with the punk band while expressing a desire to book shows for them in the New York City area this year.

The Weapon originally formed in 2017 with a two-song release to their name so far. The album Leach says they’ve finished will be their debut while any shows they do book will also be their first.

“In truth It’s the record I’ve wanted to make for many many years but couldn’t find the right people, the proper motivation and the right timing to actually do it. Well it’s now done and we jammed on it along side a few classic punk rock covers tonight. We hope to be playing some shows around the NYC area this year in between @killswitchengage tours and the chaos of all of our lives!” Leach shares.

Some seriously great people right here @theweaponnyc and killer musicians on top of it! We had a lot of fun making a punk rock record. I am very pleased and stoked on it! It’s fast, angry, raw, passionate and full of protest hymns. I did the majority of the vocals in 3 straight takes very little fixes, so it’s imperfect and raw like a deep cut with gasoline poured over it. In truth It’s the record I’ve wanted to make for many many years but couldn’t find the right people, the proper motivation and the right timing to actually do it. Well it’s now done and we jammed on it along side a few classic punk rock covers tonight. We hope to be playing some shows around the NYC area this year in between @killswitchengage tours and the chaos of all of our lives! Thank you @the_josh @christopherdrapeau and @darkcitystudios for your friendship, music, patience, great conversations and for being rad humans. It’s liberating to be able to speak (well hell and scream actually) much more deeply on my view of this sick and twisted world of corruption and greed. These are our rebel anthems and we will use them to raise awareness as well as raise funds to support various organizations we believe in! Don’t just yell about it BE about it! Smash the system by bettering it through daily actions and choices. Every seemingly small action causes a reaction of the likes of which we can not predict. . Every explosion starts with a spark…… . ????????????? #TheWeaponNYC #PunkRock #RebelMusic #MusicIsAWeapon #ProtestSongs #JesseLeach #PunkRockMetalHead #Hardcore #anarcopunk
