KISS to play underwater gig for great white sharks, fan-filled submarine

It appears that KISS are looking to broaden their fanbase, taking their show out to sea to play for some great white sharks.

No, we’re not kidding.

As a promotion through Airbnb, eight fans will venture out to sea with KISS off the coast of southern Australia.

Taking separate boats, the band will remain onboard one vessel while the fans will be lowered beneath the water in an area that’s known for its shark activity.

KISS will then begin playing at least four songs, which fans will be able to hear through underwater speakers.

“I was a little taken aback by it, but they explained that sharks are attracted to low frequencies and so they’re attracted to rock ‘n’ roll,” singer and guitarist Paul Stanley tells The Associated Press. “Since we’re going to be in Australia, it gives a whole new meaning to doing a concert down under.”

The event will take place in the Indian Ocean off Port Lincoln, South Australia Nov. 18. Costing just a mere $50, the event is a first-come, first-serve basis with proceeds going to charity.

Fans will be able to reserve their spot starting Oct. 14 at 6:00 p.m. EST here.

KISS will don full makeup and play “at least” four songs.

“I’m not sure how much of us the sharks can take,” Stanley adds. “I’m hoping they know ‘Rock And Roll All Nite.’”
