KISS fans spot Gene Simmons-like Pokémon in ‘Sword And Shield’

KISS fans may be in for a bit of a surprise this November when they boot up the newest iteration of Pokémon. Teased Aug. 7 by the official Pokémon Twitter account, the new Galarian evolution of Linoone bares a shocking resemblance to Gene Simmons, the legendary bass player himself.

The new Pokémon’s name is Obstagoon. Maybe The Demon is trying out a new look. After all, Kiss has never been shy about partnering with companies for merchandise opportunities. So grab a few Pokéballs, put Alive on the turntable, and check out Nintendo’s latest creation.

“Living in the unique environment of the Galar region, some regional forms have developed unique Evolutions unseen in any other region,” the Pokémon website describes. “Obstagoon, which evolves from Galarian Linoone, is one example.”

“The Linoone of the Galar region live in harsh conditions compared to those found in other regions, with fierce competition against others of their species.” continuing. “Their survival instincts have been honed as a result, leading to their Evolution into Obstagoon.”

“Obstagoon is especially skilled at throwing its opponents off guard and counterattacking with its sharp claws.”

What a surprise because Simmons is especially skilled at throwing his opponents and fans alike off guard with 6in. platform heels, a surgically elongated tongue, demon makeup, and plenty of pyrotechnics. He then counterattacks with 14 albums going platinum.

Check out Obstagoon for yourself.

Another New Pokémon

It seems to us that Pokémon might be running out of ideas as another Galar evolution appears to be a bong, and fans are having a wild time with the memes for this poor Galarian Weezing.

Pokémon Sword and Shield releases Nov. 15 on Nintendo Switch. Tell us what you think about these two Pokémon in the comments below.
