Knocked Loose, Code Orange play late-night gig after festival set rain-out

Knocked Loose, Code Orange and Vein were all a part of the Chicago Open Air festival lineup that was set to take place this weekend.

The festival ended up raining out the three band’s sets. The groups, along with Harm’s Way, joined forces and gave people a 6 hour notice of an indoor gig they set up at the last minute.

The day of the show, the bands were excitedly tweeting fans about their prospective sets.

When the rain became too much, their sets got rained out.

“Due to the inclement weather that was experienced at Seat Geek Stadium, we have unfortunately had to cut Vein, Knocked Loose and Code Orange from today’s Chicago Open Air line-up. Doors will now open at 4:30PM and Beartooth will kick things off today at 5:30PM,” the festival wrote on their social media.

Then, the bands figured out a Plan B.  They announced the new show at Metro in Chicago, with doors open at 11:30 p.m. and a $10 cover charge. Knocked Loose said they’d be playing “hits only.”

Apparently, the tickets at the door were selling fast as fans came out in full-force to see the amazing last-minute gig.

Code Orange tweeted that in a 6 hour notice, 1,000 people showed up to the venue.

Also, the sets went pretty late. Knocked Loose played around 2 a.m. with Code Orange jamming out a 3:30 a.m. You can see some clips below.

Many people praised the bands and the venue for doing the show last minute, including Dan Lambton of Real Friends.

The musicians definitely made the best out of a bad situation, and we would’ve killed to go to this show.
