Slipknot are reimagining Knotfest through exclusive online content

While Slipknot have called off all of their Knotfest shows for this summer, the band are temporarily replacing the festival with a “global multi-media hub” offering exclusive content.

The band are reimagining Knotfest.com to offer news, exclusive interviews, performances, merch and more.

The new virtual hub is a fan-centred platform created by artists packaging written, audio and video content for fans involved in metal.

There’s going to be artist-created content including an audio interview series called The Electric Theater hosted by Slipknot’s Shawn “Clown” Crahan. The first episode is launching today with a special interview with Code Orange‘s Jami Morgan. You can listen to that below.

Marking what would have been the kick-off weekend for this year’s Knotfest Roadshow, they’ll also be hosting a livestream event this Friday (May 29) at 6 PM ET.

The streaming event is featuring interviews with members of Slipknot, Underoath and Code Orange. During the livestream, Slipknot are streaming their 2019 headline set from Graspop Festival in Belgium.

Underoath are also streaming their 2016 performance from the Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas where they played They’re Only Chasing Safety in full. On top of that, a portion of Ryan J. Downey’s interview with frontman Spencer Chamberlain will be shown.

Going further, Code Orange are streaming their Twitch performance from back in March and showing part of Clown’s Electric Theater discussion with Jami Morgan.

Further, they’re revealing an exclusive merch line available this week only. The tour merch collection that would have been sold at the travelling festival is online for just 72 hours until Sunday, May 31 at midnight ET. You can see the new merch here.

The band revealed the news today on their social media accounts while further details are available here. Make sure to check back on the website for more new content as it gets uploaded.

Earlier this month, Slipknot cancelled all of their summer touring plans to make sure fans could get refunds.

The canceled tour dates include all of their North American Knotfest Roadshow dates, their Knotfest UK shows and Knotfest At Sea. Their additional shows in Germany and elsewhere are also being canceled.

The North American dates were revealed earlier in the year and included A Day To RememberUnderoath and Code Orange. Knotfest UK’s lineup had yet to be revealed beyond Slipknot performing. Knotfest At Sea was set to be featuring AnthraxBehemothDevildriverSevendustSkindredHo99o9Higher Power and Sleep Token. Other acts were also going to be announced later.

Back in March, the band had to cancel their tour of Asia including Knotfest Japan due to the coronavirus pandemic.
