Listen to Knuckle Puck’s deeply personal new single “RSVP”

Knuckle Puck just announced their third full-length album 20/20 will be released later this year. To celebrate, the band revealed a very personal single “RSVP.”

Knuckle Puck dropped the first 20/20 single back in February with the punchy, cathartic track “Tune You Out.”

“Tune You Out” marked Knuckle Puck’s first release in nearly two years. Previously, they dropped the Shifted EP in 2018, which was reworked versions of their previous record Shapeshifter.

When the track dropped, the band shared that they had finished recording their third record and were very excited about it.

“We have recently finished recording our third full-length record, done with Seth Henderson at ABG Studios,” the band says. “Fans can expect an honest-to-goodness Knuckle Puck sound that should be played rather loud, with the windows down. It’s our favorite version of ourselves, and we think you’ll feel the same way.”

Obviously, this excited fans who were wondering when we would get the new record. Unfortunately, we don’t know the exact date still, but we do know it’s coming later this year. The cherry on top of it all is “RSVP.”

Knuckle Puck announced the new song and a few album details on social media

We’re excited for you to hear RSVP, a brand new song from our upcoming album.

We’ve had a lot of questions about that lately, so here’s the deal. Our third album, 20/20, will be coming out later this year on Rise Records. We don’t have a release date yet because of the current state of the world, but we are putting up a limited /300 variant of vinyl on our store today to celebrate the new track.
These are the best songs we’ve written and we can’t wait for you to hear them all! We sincerely appreciate your patience and hope to have much more info soon on release dates, tours, and more.

Vocalist/guitarist Nick Casasanto recently explained the deeply personal nature of the new track.

“This is one of the first songs I wrote in my apartment after moving to L.A.,” Casasanto says of “RSVP.” “So much had happened in my personal life after the release of Shapeshifter that I felt like life was moving and changing faster than I could cope.”

“I felt separated from everything and everyone living on the other side of the country, but it was strangely refreshing,” He continued. “In a way, it felt like I had escaped a lot of my problems. So when people would ask, ‘When are you coming back to Chicago?’ it was difficult to give them an honest answer.”

Casasanto also explained that the record as a whole is very important right now.

“Not every song has to be an existential journey,” Casasanto says. “We went into this album wanting to make people feel good about who they are and not upset about who they aren’t. There’s so much to be angry about right now, and rather than contribute to it, we wanted to give people a reason to feel good. I want people to want to listen to this record.”

“RSVP” Lyrics

I’ll call in every favor from Seattle to the Atlantic
If it takes me that long
And yet you underline every fundamental flaw
You’re far too basic
Better than nothing at all
And fuck whatever you seen on the tv
It doesn’t matter what you think about me

So you can keep
Your RSVP
From 12 feet deep
Down the hole you’re in

And if you’re listening just for clarity
Those idealistic dreams were never so naive

Complicated, mind sedated
Hearts turn vacant
Humble patriot
(Keep your hands over your ears
So, you can cover up, cover up)

If I’m telling the truth
I won’t miss you
If I’m telling the truth
I won’t be missing you
