Korn guitarist overcomes family obstacles, addiction in new documentary

A new Korn documentary is upon us. The new film centers around founding member and guitarist Brian Welch and his daughter Jennea, who saved his life.

After becoming addicted to drugs, Welch took a step back from a multi-million dollar record deal to become a good father to his young daughter. The documentary, called LOUD CRAZY LOVE, addresses teen depression, faith and finding a sense of identity.

“When I watch LOUD KRAZY LOVE, I’m amazed at where Jennea and I have been compared to where we are now,” Welch says. “Our relationship was broken and strained before I made a conscious choice to change my habits and my life. Today, our relationship is stronger than ever. If all the pain and heartache we went through can help others, then it was all worth it.”

Along with having a captivating story, director Trey Hill says the documentary serves as an example for those searching for similar motivation.

“Brian and Jennea’s story is proof that there is hope for anyone,” Hill says. “You don’t have to hide from the shameful stuff in your life and you don’t have to let it control you, either. You can overcome and experience true freedom.”

Additionally, the documentary includes never-before-seen Korn footage and in-depth interviews with Welch. The film is set for digital and DVD release June 18.
