Numerous social media sites ended up taking down the viral video over spreading misinformation.

A scientist named Judy Mikovits is claiming in the video that the virus is a laboratory creation. Other claims she’s making in the video include that masks and gloves actually make people sick. She also states that closing beaches is “insanity” as the water has “healing microbes.”

According to The Washington Post, Mikovits co-wrote a 2009 research paper linking chronic fatigue syndrome to a retrovirus found in mice. Less than two years later, follow-up studies couldn’t replicate the link and the paper was retracted. Now, she’s back to spreading misinformation with the new video.

Misinformation about the virus has led to numerous conspiracy theories involving 5G tech infrastructure, claims that countries are inflating their stats and more.

To date, over 3.9 million cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally while 273,000 deaths have occurred according to John Hopkins University.

Krist Novoselic made a post discussing his thoughts on anyone who believes the video’s claims. He jokingly says how they should reach out to them with their personal financial information.
