Kurt Cobain biographer says Courtney Love actually wrote the death scene note

Last week, Seattle Police released a note from legendary Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain’s death scene. It was initially believed that the note, which was found in Cobain’s wallet, was written by the singer himself and was mocking his wedding vows to Courtney Love.

The first version of the note obtained by the press (which read, “Do you Kurt Cobain take Courtney Michelle Love to be your Lawful Shredded wife, even when she's a bitch with zits and siphoning all yr money for doping and whoring”) was cropped. But after Yahoo Music recently obtained the full letter, another line of text was discovered: “Will you promise to fuck her at least once a week, O.K.” the line reads.

Now, Kurt Cobain biographer Charles R. Cross has come out and said that the note was written by Courtney Love—not Cobain. Cross, who wrote the Cobain bio Heavier Than Heaven, claims that Love emailed him and said she wrote the note prior to the couple’s 1991 wedding.

If we assume that the note was written by Love and take that new line into consideration, the whole thing sounds a lot more lighthearted than earlier believed.
