This year has been pretty busy for the heavy metal act. Not only did they pick back up their moniker, Burn The Priest, they also embarked on Slayer’s final shows.  While they’ve been pretty busy, that doesn’t mean they haven’t thought about making a follow-up to their 2015 VII: Sturm und Drang.

According to the band’s guitarist, Mark Morton, the band will be hitting the studio to drop a new Lamb Of God record a lot sooner than anyone thought.

The news comes after the guitarist quoted a tweet asking when the group would be hitting the studio. His reply, while it didn’t give anything away, was a simple and to the point: “Very soon!”

We’re not entirely sure when the group will be heading into the studio to do work on their ninth studio album, we seriously can’t wait to hear what’s in store.

Slayer will be going on another run with Slayer later this year, and this time around, it’s for the Europe and U.K. leg of the tour. Check out the full list of cities and dates below!
