Metallica's Lars Ulrich has been knighted

Lars Ulrich, drummer of Metallica, has been knighted in his home country of Denmark. According to Loudwire, the Crown Prince of Denmark awarded Ulrich the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Dannebrog, an award that honors Danes for notable contributions to military, civil service, technology, business, or culture.

Metallica’s official Instagram shared this photo of Ulrich posing with the Crown Prince of Demark, with a caption reading: “Does this really mean we must address him as Sir Lars now? Congrats to Lars as he was knighted last night by Frederik, Crown Prince of Denmark. Not bad for a snot-nosed kid from Gentofte!”
