There have been plenty of theories on who the Last Jedi might be from Luke to Rey, to possibly Jedi being plural and it being both of them, but it turns out the answer has been in front of us all along, according to an interview with director Rian Johnson.

“It’s in the opening crawl of The Force Awakens,” Johnson told the New York Times. “Luke Skywalker, right now, is the last Jedi.”

So it's been in the opening crawl of The Force Awakens this entire time? …Oh.

Johnson continues to explain himself in the interview commenting, “there’s always wiggle room in these movies – everything is from a certain point of view – but coming into our story, he is the actual last of the Jedi. And he’s removed himself and is alone on this island, for reasons unknown.”

We're hoping we can find those reasons soon, considering the last movie ends on a cliffhanger.. like an actual cliffhanger, like they were on a cliff.. I'll show myself out. But, that's not the only theory we have to tide us over until Dec. 15 as the new Disney Store's die-cast Snoke figure has us asking some very interesting questions.

The figure has the First Order chief wearing what appears to be a “black kyber crystal ring,” And guess what? Kyber crystals are used for building lightsabers in the Star Wars universe.

This means that ol' Snoke could potentially create a lot of chaos for the New Republic in December's The Last Jedi, with some speculating that Snoke may bust out a never-before-seen black lightsaber in the new movie. Hell yes.

How ready are you for the new Star Wars movie? Let us know in the comments!
