Laura Jane Grace burns birth certificate during Against Me!'s North Carolina protest show

Last night Against Me! performed in Durham, North Carolina as a “form of protest” to the state's House Bill 2, which requires transgender people to use the bathroom that corresponds with the “biological sex” assigned to their birth certificates. During the band's set, frontwoman Laura Jane Grace took a moment to publicly burn her own birth certificate on stage, proclaiming “goodbye, gender.” You can view fan footage of the burning below.
